Beatriz Liebe y Martí Sánchez Fibla
Beatriz Liebe Masferrer is a theatre director and cultural manager. Trained at the Catholic University of Chile and at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in the UK. Co-founder of l'Altre Festival Internacional d'Arts Escèniques i Salut Mental. She was director of the Centro Cívico Baró de Viver and head of projects at the Fundació Xarxa d'Espectàcle Infantil i Juvenil de Catalunya. In her approximately 20 years of experience in the field of performing arts, she has participated as director or performer in more than 20 shows of different genres and trajectories, including Teatronika (premiered at the CCCB in 2016 and re-released at the TNT Festival 2017, Terrassa), Divisions (Festival Off Avignon 2014), Mon Amour (show and installation, Festival STROBE), Agnus Lupus (show and installation. Institut del Teatre), among others. She was also co-director of the PIIGS Playwriting Festival, among many other adventures. Her irruption into the digital environment came with Teatronika, a project in which she became interested, on the one hand, in exploring the limits of the performing arts and, on the other, in the possibilities it offers for working on issues related to equity.
Marti Sánchez-Fibla is a researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He did his PhD at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of the CSIC. He did a postdoctoral stay in the Department of Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence at INRIA Toulouse (France). He has recently participated in several European robotics projects (he was principal investigator of the Synthetic Forager project, extending Sensory Motor Contingencies and the current SocSMC). In 2016 he obtained a National Plan as Principal Investigator DPI2016-80116-P. He has published in the most important Robotics and Artificial Intelligence journals and conferences : IROS, ICRA, ECAI, IJCAI and AAAI. In addition to his scientific career, he has participated in the scientific-artistic creations of SPECS, presented a solo robotic platform for research at SONAR 2010, the installation Mixed Reality Robot Arena12, which also passed through the prestigious European technology conference ICT 2010. For 7 years he was part of the theatre company Agrupación Sr. Serrano, as a creative and technological developer.
Bit Lab, Innovació Cultural Social
Platform in the field of cultural and social innovation, project design and engineering, audiovisual, design, communication and cultural production. Established in Sant Andreu de Palomar, they propose projects within the Catalan territory and with social return. Laboratory Cities, open and participatory innovation and user-driven innovation are the three strategic lines of the platform. Some of its projects: Decidim.Cultura, ATMUS, Noise Maps, etc. It is a good meeting point for citizen initiatives and social projects. They combine different cultural proposals with others that are more socially aware, establishing links between citizens, urban issues and culture.
SocLaNut
The first cultural digital influencer. She questions the status quo in the digital world of the 21st century with a more frightening vision of what it can mean to admire or follow people or entities we don't know and their interactions. The first computer-generated cultural influencer (CGI, "ComputerGeneratedInuencer") that was created to bring culture in general and museums in particular to younger audiences. Nominated as a finalist for the Lluís Carulla Awards.
The internet Tour
This project is an initiative - organised within the framework of the Art Nou festival, emerging art in L'Hospitalet - by the artist Mario Santamaría. Internet Tour is an open and replicable tour operator focused on the phenomenon of teletechnologies. A journey through the physical infrastructure of the Internet, a tourist route of non-touristy places.
Pixi.Click
It is a digital education project for young children, currently under development thanks to the mentorship of the Carulla Awards.
"Pixi.click" is a Youtube channel, a website and a theatrical show that open a space for dialogue with children about the uses they make of screens, the time they devote to them and the possible consequences that uncontrolled use can entail. The protagonist is Pixi, a muppet puppet, who has decided to become a "Youtuber". On her channel, you can hear her anecdotes about video games, the tablet... and her problems (she gets angry when the tablet time is up, she doesn't want to go to bed...). Fortunately, she has realised that "something is wrong" and is open to discovering other ways of having fun. Through postcards, Pixi's followers will recommend entertaining activities for her screen-free free time.
Pixi allows us to talk to children about a major challenge: the digitalisation of children.
Gira por las casas
Gira por las casas is a MARKETPLACE that connects artists - creators, who offer live shows and experiences with hosts / companies that want to hire them for their events.
It is a platform where you can buy tickets to attend small events and unique experiences that are happening in the city.
The project seeks to promote local art and encourage shows as entertainment that can be enjoyed from anywhere. Gira por las casas wants to democratise access to artists and promoters of independent art.
Teatronika
Project initiated by Martí Sánchez-Fibla (researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at Pompeu Fabra University) with the aim of making 5 NAO robots (which until then had only played football) available to everyone to interpret theatre scripts written by the participants of the Teatronika Competition, of which 4 editions have been held, with a total of approximately 400 scripts received. Each edition of the competition is accompanied by the publication of a book with the winning scripts and a series of essays; and theatrical production in which we also include the results of our experimentation in new fields, such as the live generation of text with neural networks.
In 2018 Teatronika is constituted as a scientific and cultural dissemination association with Beatriz Liebe, Gerald Kogler, and Marti Sanchez-Fibla. In 2021 it is the recipient of the City of Barcelona Awards grant to develop a methodology in the field of STEAM education, in which performing arts, robotics, and AI intersect.
Plecs
Plecs is a project of the cooperative Cultural Rizoma that aims to reflect on the particularities of the digital sphere from the digital. This is a broad umbrella that takes the form of two types of content: an online video cycle in spring and a series of actions/performances in streaming in autumn. It is an entirely virtual initiative that aims to reflect on questions such as the extractivist system that sustains digital technologies, connected intimacy, apparently intangible jobs or the algorithms that operate relentlessly. The project was born with the intention of being a space that problematises digital media using their possibilities, as well as with a desire to explore publics that crystallise in communities beyond a specific territorial scope.
FemDevs
FemDevs is a non-profit association that aims to promote the interest, participation and presence of women in the videogame development culture.
Colectic
Colectic is a non-profit cooperative project that works for the inclusion, autonomy and empowerment of people and communities in the social, employment and technological spheres. They work in a network to develop spaces, means and projects that promote processes of emancipation, employment and training of people. They understand technology as a facilitator and enabler for people's autonomy. However, they consider that the current technological model is privative and governed by capitalist logics. As a welfare platform it works very well as it helps different communities to adapt to new technologies.
