Vitrin.as is a virtual gallery created by Desmusea that hosts net.art projects inspired by collections, spaces, and histories of museums in Spain. vitrin.as is located in the interstices of artistic practice, digital curatorship, and cultural mediation. This project explores the possibilities of online exhibitions and cultural mediation, and the relationship between technological development and artistic expression, understanding museums as key agents for the encounter between both disciplines. Vitrin.as tries to generate a ubiquitous cultural ecosystem, formed by virtual links between institutions and artistic agents of our territory. The projects are hosted in vitrin.as to be freely displayed and shared, allowing to generate links between museums and digital citizenship, understanding technology as a tool capable of promoting cultural democratization.
