After a 3-year process of mapping and building a line of content offered to the community, Ideas Digitales launches Espai Obert:
Espai Obert is a public call for agents and/or collectives from the territory of Catalonia who have an active cultural project, whose ‘digital layer’ is in the process of development. Through a mentoring process with experts, they can build, rethink, or strengthen different aspects of this layer, connect with a network of specialists and peers, and grow or promote their initiatives in the digital environment.
Espai Obert opens this first public call focused on Catalonia, in order to support a total of 12 active cultural projects in this region. Projects that want to explore new forms of communication, impact, connection, engagement, visibility, production, monetisation, and exchange, and that see, in the digital environment, a possibility to grow in any of these areas.
The support to the selected projects will consist of a process of face-to-face sessions, carried out during an intensive 7-hour day, on 22 November 2023, at the facilities of #plantauno (culture research centre) in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona.
The mentorships will focus on four specific themes that Espai Obert and Ideas Digitales consider to be the four fundamental layers that every project must address in order to have a solid ‘digital layer’. The mentoring will be carried out by 5 experts in different areas of the digital environment linked to cultural projects.
The application period will be open from the date of publication of this call (Monday 02 October 2023) until Tuesday 31 October 2023 at 00:00h CET.
***The day consists of a first part of mentoring and exchange (closed-door) and a second part open to the general public in which there will be a keynote speech, an expert panel discussion around the theme ‘Ethics and Technology‘, and a final performance/farewell party.
The program for the second part of the day will be announced after the publication of the resolution of this call.
