Efraín Foglia

Efraín is a designer, researcher, and teacher, and his work is positioned at the intersection between design, grassroots activism, and networked technologies. His research encompasses diverse scenarios such as the construction of tools for alternative communication, decentralized networked infrastructures, and new paradigms in technopolitical design. He is a founding member of guifi.net, the world’s largest self-managed telecommunications network, and exo.cat, a Barcelona-based association that promotes community-based digital infrastructures. In 2011 he founded Mobilitylab, a platform for experimenting with new forms of physical and digital interaction. He is the founder of XRCB, Xarxa de Ràdios Comunitàries de Barcelona, an online platform for research, experimentation, and dissemination of diverse community forms of radio and content on the Internet.
